I Accidentally Applied SCEA (Restrictive Early Action) to Four Schools. What do I do?

A quick google search told me that Early Action is non-binding and Early Decision is binding, so I went ahead and submitted my Stanford, Harvard, Princeton, and Yale applications. When submitting my Harvard arts portfolio, I noticed that the Nov 1 deadline was for Single Choice Early Action, so I googled that and then realized that I was only meant to submit one Restrictive Early Action application. I am not sure what to do at this point, bc if they find out, it threatens my acceptance to all. I don’t want to call three of the colleges out of fear that they think I am careless or that they disqualify my application immediately and I have no way to submit a new one. Please help!

Contact them and ask to be moved to the regular decision list.

And next time, don’t trust random Google searches. Look for the details on each institution’s website. If you still don’t understand the terms, contact their own admiddions oddices and ask for clarification.

You have no choice but to contact 3 of the schools and them to move your application to the RD round. You will not have to submit a new application. If you call be sure to follow up with an email so you have proof of the change to RD in writing.

And I agree with @happymomof1 that details are important in this process. You must look at the website of each school you apply to and be sure to understand the rules.

Thanks, I just emailed Harvard and Princeton and Yale gives me no option but to call tomorrow.
