I already have my schedule.. Can I check the books I'll need this fall RIGHT NOW?

Is there a way to do it online?

If your prof. has ordered his/her books online then you can check them out at http://www.bookstores.nyu.edu/faculty.services/check.status.html

1.) do the school bookstores run out of used textbooks really quickly? (mostly stern class textbooks)

2.) do the different editions matter much? (hoping for an answer based on your personal experience if you have any)

3.) whats the best way/place to go about getting textbooks? (tips and tricks please)

most book lists don't come out till august, so you know.

i'm not positive about stern, but usually no. nyu bookstore usually orders enough books for the students enrolled in the classes (and since many people get books online/other stores, they normally have plenty left)

mostly, editions change every year and the only thing that changes about this is one or two sections or even just pages. as far as my wte book, i could have bought an outdated edition and just gotten a friend to copy me the one or two essays that weren't in mine (if we even used the new ones...i don't know that we did). for stern, though, i'd probably go for the latest edition because those tend to be fact based rather than something like a collection of essays. i'm not an expert on stern textbooks, though, so just go for the latest edition.

search online. i saved over $100 on my books by using ebay, online used textbook stores, amazon, etc.
