I am a failure. You might say, oh that's not so bad, but you don't get it -- I'm Asian, and not just any Asian. I'm ****ing Chinese... which means with these stats, I'm probably not going to get into any good college... ANY GOOD COLLEGE.

And I'm already a junior. I have an 89 average right now. No good ECs, no job, no friends, no nothing besides my mediocre GPA and volunteering.

Where can I go..? My state college? I'm def. not going to community college.

While your chances are slim (with what you have posted null, though we don’t know the whole story) at a college like Harvard, you will certainly be able to go to your flagship state university (unless you live in California) if you do well next year.

Well…if you live in CA you’re in luck! If you go to community college in CA, UC’s give first priority to graduates from there, so you could transfer:)

I definitely think you might have decent shot at a few top-tier colleges. I know a few people with similar credentials to yours (although your SAT score is pretty good), who managed to get into state universities. You still have a bit of time, as you are a junior, to get yourself involved (get an internship over the summer, a job, or start something, etc). Commitment will obviously be an issue since you have a late start in ECs, but truthfully, in junior year, everyone just goes full-out and push themselves in all directions, and colleges really look at that.

You know, there’s no reason to be ashamed of going to an in-state public or community college (although you really need not even think about community college). Actually, you’re probably about average or above average for an Asian-American. Don’t let the crazy Asian people here get to your head. Not everyone cures cancer at 14. (Ok, I’m Asian, too, but I’m allowed to stereotype.)

You’re obviously in a pretty good position, so try to pull yourself up as much as possible while looking at a number of different options for college. (Don’t forget about LACs, too!)

dude, you can still get into a good college. don’t act like you are stupid, I bet you are probably in the top 5% of students in the US, it’s just that this site has absurdly smart kids.
