I am a sophomore in highschool

Hello, I am currently choosing my classes for my junior year and have some questions. I have not taken an AP course yet, I am currently taking a few honors and regular Precal. Teachers have signed me up for AP Physics I, AP English Language, Calculus I, AP Spanish Language, US History Honors and AP Capstone: Seminar. How are the AP exams for the classes I mentioned? Will these courses be too much for me? Should I speak to a teacher and ask him to put me in AP US History or stay in Honors? Does it look bad that I took all regular classes my freshman year and only a few honors my sophomore year? I am in three clubs and am planning on volunteering at a hospital this summer. My unweighted GPA is a 3.9, weighted is 4.5. Please let me know, my course selection sheet is due Friday March 6. Thank you

AP Physics I and AP Lang are common junior classes in schools that offer them. I can’t speak as to Spanish. If you didn’t take AP World, APUSH might be a bit of an adjustment. I think 3 (4? No idea what capstone is) APs is just fine for junior year.

Do you know what IB is? How some schools offer that? Mine is offering these Capstone courses and basically if you pass the AP Capstone: Seminar course one year and the AP Capstone Research course another year plus get 3’s or higher on four AP exams you get a Capstone diploma which supposedly looks good.

I took regular World History, should I just stick to these four AP courses and take US History Honors?

Oh okay! Yeah, my personal opinion would be to keep it as-is, but hopefully some other people will give you alternate perspectives as well.

Okay thank you, I appreciate it. I’m not planning on applying to any Ivy League schools but do you think my application will seem weak because I am not in any sports and did not take AP courses till my junior year in high school?

Going from 0 to 4 AP courses is more than enough.

Yeah you are right, I’ll probably be overwhelmed with four AP courses. Five would be way too much

Will I be okay if I get a decent score on the SAT and keep my GPA up

Plus continue to be a part of clubs and volunteer during the summers
