Anyone else having trouble doing school work because they are constantly on Facebook, Twitter, AIM and LOCKERZ (lmao). I get no work done at all at home. Hulu.com should also go under that list. Any tips to stop being distracted so easily and getting to work? Thanks people!!!

If at all possible, turn off the internet connection while you are doing your work. Turn it back on when you are taking a break. Time your break and stick to it. If you can’t turn off the internet connection, do not log on to facebook etc until break time and then log off.

Yes. I’ve defintely have thatp roblem too. This is what I did: BLOCK FACEBOOK ON THE COMPUTER!!! It helps and I might do that for CC. The amount of time wasted on these sites can be used more wisely on other more productive things.

I totally agree with amaster008. It takes a lot of precious time…There is also a software which helps to block certain websites (which ever you want to). Tell your parents to choose a password and lock it down!! This will surely help. i’m not sure about the name of the software…google it out.

All the Best

hey about that lockerz site, is it realiable?

if U want to procrastinate you will, you don’t need Cc to do it
speaking from experience

if facebook didn’t exist, i would have HOURS free every day. seriously. CC, too.

edit:what the hell is lockerz? never heard of it, haha.

Use blockers…leechblocker for Mozilla is what I just started using. Of course, you need the motivation not to get around the system (there are so many ways, but I feel like I shouldn’t even mention them since that defeats the purpose), so you have to play dumb a bit and just follow the system. I have an hour or so of time I allow myself after school, and then a homework break from 8 or 9. It works pretty well; it’s gotten me off Facebook for a zillion hours a day.

Ultimately, blocking websites or ripping out the computer plug will not work. The best way to fight an internet addiction is to practice self-discipline. For example, limit Facebook and Twitter to only Sundays

I can’t finish my hw because of CC and Facebook. Damnit.
