I am an American and am going to apply to 3 Canadian Universities..help

I live, and was born in America. I want to apply to UofT, McGill and UBC. I am extremely confused on how Canadian universities look at grades. I know UBC looks exclusively at year 12 grades, but I don't know about the other two. I searched both websites, but no avail. If someone could shed some light on this matter I would be extremely thankful.

McGill looks at all grades 10, 11 and 12 marks and SAT/ACT scores for American applicants and publishes minimum cutoffs:
[Admissions standards for previous years | Undergraduate Admissions - McGill University](http://www.mcgill.ca/undergraduate-admissions/counsellors-and-advisors/united-states/admissions-standards-previous-years)

U of T will look at your CGPA, which they say must be “high” but they do not specify an exact number. You must have a score from SAT or ACT and two SAT subject tests, APs, IBs. Certain programs require prerequisite courses and you can find those on the U of T website. The SAT scores must be a minimum of 600 on each component but some programs have higher thresholds. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you will be competitive if your scores are at those levels.

Canadian schools, including UBC I believe, do not just look exclusively grade 12 marks for American students. That is true for Canadian applicants, but not those coming from American highschools.

I live in America and am in my first year of college, I’m an average Student and my grades in community college are above 80%, I’m Looking to Transfer to a Canadian University next year but have some questions:

 1. What do schools look at for transfer students?
 2. I want to get my work done but am also looking for a big party school, which universities are the best party schools in Canada?
 3. Do you think because I’m transferring from America it will be hard to make friends?
 4. do i need to speak French?

In ontario (in this order) thers Western, Guelph and Queens that are known for it. Mcgill is in montreal and montreal is a great place to party.

No. You sound like you enjoy partying so it shouldnt be too hard.

No. You dont need to know any french and it wont affect you making friends etc.

I hopw you don’t mind me asking, what are your interests in Canadian schools?

Well Ive been Interested in Canada for a while and always wanted to visit but never really found the time to go because my parents like Tropical places and thats where we usually go on vacations lol, so i figured i might as well go to Canada for College and try something completely different in my life, and another plus side is I’m into Electronic Music and all the famous djs seem to always go to canada, and Canada just seems to be a better place for me then America so I might as well give it everything i got and take a chance, you only live once.
