But an admissons person would probably catch the clue of they saw that you attended an elite private school

Wh@7!?:)E.

All of the time, feel like all my mind.

If you've never considered yourself black, you shouldn't on your college applications to have a "hook". As an African American, that's just insulting.

AA assures a minority presence in the middle-upper class which is needed because 1) discrimination isn't gone yet and 2) psychological/economic barriers facing minorities. Though I think the psychological aspect is not limited to minorities and also extends to the poor, I also believe that continuous minority presence is essential for breaking down barriers and leading to a more uniform distribution of wealth among the races. I do however believe that poor minorities should be sought out more because they are in a deep hole that is difficult to escape...they face many challenges and deserve some kind of escape- a good education could be their stairway to heaven

From now on, all applicants to college must fill in a family tree, dating for the last three generations, with ethnicities specified. :P

Okay, seriously though, the main problem I have with this is the entire "being black just to get into a good college". I have a friend who applied to colleges who's 1/4 Native American, 3/4 white, and he only put that he was white because he wasn't going to game the system to his advantage. I don't know if this topic is a joke (it could be), but it's something I wanted to say.

A solution? I don't know...people will keep finding loopholes as long as there's an admissions system in the first place. There are all kinds of advantages for college...

jjjj- I take offense to that. I am not a 'race user.'

dudes he is lyk t0tally right, black is just a color of skin, absoultely not a race - i gotta agree with that

his title - has like nothing to do with race

his post - shows hard work to get into college

One of the funniest threads; definitely in my top 10.

Look, no offense but you're obviously not Black. And, I'm not saying that because your using correct English or have good grades or whatever, because surprise! I actually am. NO actual Black person makes the types of comments that you have made. However, someone who isn't Black, and wants to start trouble, and turn this into a big "race fight" so to speak, would post some ******** like this. You sound like the same ****ing loser who made the post: I'm A Nigger and I want Harvard. All you did was substitute a couple of words . Hence, I'm Black and I want Ivies. Look, I'm not saying you're a bad person. Just find something constructive to do with your time you attention whore.

Maybe he is just being honest, There's nothing wrong with taking advantage of something when it benefits you. geesh you people are so over dramatic

wow you really milking the "black factor" and to boot you are so in your face and obnoxious about it! Did you only decide to "become black" when it was time to apply to college? Geez...........try and be a little more low key or at least pretend. BE CAREFUL, because this kind of cockiness, deceipt and deception can easily be picked up by the admissions crew, they have radars that are eager to pick up on things just like this one, you will likely get lucky based on your "black" heritage or newfound heritage just because of the cold hard stats of blacks applying to ivies that are qualified. but i hope you can shrug off that attitude before you go wherever you are destined to go because people will see right through it and its definetly not cool. Where did you apply?

Please people, this thread is fake. The poster is an imposter
