I am currently a rising sophomore at a decent flag ship state university majoring in Chemical Engineering, and doing very well so far. I do not have a problem with my school, but it doesn't present the opportunities that a school like Penn would, specifically I would like to get into commodity trading or banking. I still plan on majoring in Engineering, probably sticking through with chemical, but I feel that UPenn's connections with the financial sector will help me achieve my goals, where I feel my current university might make it harder.

My major concern is how I should approach my transfer essay, if I state that my interest is to break into finance but I'm applying to SEAS will that be an automatic red flag for the adcoms? Or should I be honest, and state that Wall Street recruitment that Penn receives, even outside of Wharton is what interests me to pursue an Engineering degree at Penn.
