i am paranoid :(

i took a class last year at a local university. however, i forgot to send yale the transcript. do they want/need it? i haven't been contacted about it, so i'm thinking: 1) they don't want/need it, or 2) they don't want it because i'm not getting in anyway :-(

should i fax it in now?

I took several classes at a university, and I sent in my transcript. However, a lot of times your high school has part of your college transcript on your high school transcript. If they haven't called for it, then they either have it or they don't even realize that they don't have it. Either way it doesn't really mean that you aren't going to get in.

I've read something in Yale's book...they do not recognize dual enrollment classes. Assume if means if you take any college courses while in high school, not a consideration. I'll see if I can find the paragraph.

Momray, I think (although I could be wrong or thinking of a different section) that means that Yale won't grant credit for any college classes taken in high school, not that they won't consider them for admissions purposes.

I'm pretty sure that Yale would want to see the transcript (and it may be required by the app), especially if the class is mentioned elsewhere in the app. The downside of sending it would be if Yale does require the transcript and you're just now getting it in, it looks like you couldn't follow the application directions.

Hmm, I took a class in the summer at a college and listed it on the Common App, but never sent a transcript. It was okay for me. Don't worry so much! :)

Send a copy of your transcript in with a little note of explanation so it can enter your file. It can only help (unless you tanked the class! LOL)

They aren't going to trash you (LOOK! He didn't follow ALL the directions! To the reject pile with him immediately!). They aren't devious people LOOKING for ways to reject folks. Their job is to be ADVOCATES for applicants, believe it or not.

It really depends on what class you took. If it's something cool like Diff Eq and you're trying to sell yourself as a mathematician, it would help. However, grades in most community college courses are about as useful as grades in honors classes, so unless you feel your highschool transcript does not do you justice, it probably would not matter. Now if you misrepresented your grade and then ended up sending a transcript, that would cause you some problems. But like with AP scores, Yale's more than willing to take your word for it.

thanks, guys! it was linear algebra (mat342) at az state univ.
