I am screwed?

I am currently a freshmen at UCSD. I got a 2.86 first quarter (B+ in a writing course, B in Calc, and a C+ in Econ) 2nd Quarter, my gpa is 3.38 (I got a B in chem). My cumulative gpa is 3.18... Have i seriously screwed up my chances into getting into a decent/good med school?

( I dont know why i took econ. Haha, now i know Econ is not my thing)

If you are not confident I would recommend doing a special masters program to prove to the adcom's that you can handle med school classes. Georgetown Uni has a well know one.

Too early to be thinking about SMP's. No you're not screwed...yet. Better start raising those grades though. You'll want a 3.5-3.6 cum by the time you apply.

you are not screwed yet.

Sorry, I only skimmed you post. You have time to raise your GPA. Specials masters are for people that have that gpa or lower in there junior year or when applying.

Because economics is the only important subject any of these colleges teach!

Your GPA is currently too low for admission to any allopathic school, but you've got three years left. Remember, econ is not a BCPM course, and your BCPM GPA has extra weight to it relative to your other courses.
