I'm obviously very concerned about my science classes so far. I still really want to go to a good medical school. This has been a huge wake up call for me and my work ethic... I just hope it's not too late. What should I do? Is there no chance, or should I retake some classes? My GPA for this year is a 2.5. If I get my act together for the next 3 years, do I have a chance?

There is always a chance, but you really need to figure out YOUR studying need, figure out what is dinging you down from A to B or B to C and change that.

You need a 3.5+ in general, so you really would not to buckle down and move that GPA up. Also, it depends on your state schools, if it is CA, that is more difficult than if it is TX, due to the averages they see.

Why first “C” on some quiz/test was not a wake up call? Not sure about what you mean by wake up call. Why did you wait for the end of the year? I blieve that it is crucial to answer this question before thinking about your future. The adjustments will be required ALL the way. It is very challenging in upper classes in UG, much more so in Med. School. You will not have time to adjust if it takes so long. You need to look much closer at what has happened and why it continue happenning.
