I am taking AP World History next year, should I go ahead and take the subject test?

I'm taking the course next year and I would prob. take the test in June of 2010. I def. could score high in a Social Studies subject test. Also, is it worth taking US History Subject test in my junior year too if I am going to take the World History subject test? I may also take a English subject test, but I tend not to do good on math and science standardized tests. I always scored high in Social Studies. When should I get the book to practice and when do I sign up? Thanks!

I would say go ahead and take the subject test after you take the AP class. If you want to know when the best time to study is, I would say NOW. Don’t procrastinate on things like these. I don’t know why you would take the US History subject test if you’re taking AP World History unless you’ve taken AP US or you’re already taking it. I would suggest signing up by April of 2010 if you’re planning on taking the test(s) by June.

How would I study now if I haven’t taken the course? I was saying I would take AP US History my junior year and I was asking if it would it be worth it to take that subject test, if I already have the World History subject test under my belt?

why can’t you wait a year and take it then? after you’ve studied for the AP test…

If you’re going to take APUSH junior year then go ahead and take the subject test right after you take the class. If you’ve already done AP World History then you should take the subject test right away while the material is still fresh on your mind. However, I would still review with prep books.

I said I wasn’t going to take the world history subject test until June 2010, after the class is over. But does it look bad if I take another social studies subject test?

I wouldn’t think it looks bad at all. If you’re planning to major in a social studies area or you have a passion for social studies, I would think that it would be a plus. However, I think it’s still best to be well-rounded and to have one in math, science, and social studies, but in the end it’s up to you and what you’re comfortable with.

A bit early to be thinking about it then, but it’s not like taking an extra subject test will hurt you.

I know, lol. I want to be a screenwriter, print journalist or screen actor. I just tend to score really high in Social Studies than Science or Math.

Just remember this. If you need two subject tests they will have to be in different subjectss. I.e. World history and US History will be one subject.

Thanks Indianjatt, so college’s don’t consider two different Social Studies classes two different subjects? Will it week to have a English and Social Studies subject test, but not a math and science? Also, what would be the point in taking both the World History and US History subject test then? Would you just submit you highest scores from that subject? Thanks again!
