I am thinking of transferring colleges (Boston area)

Right now I am in Babson College (a business school, basically).

I want to major in most likely finance (I know, bad timing ;) but I feel like Boston University may be more enjoyable for me. I also enjoy being in the city more. However, the value of the education and degree are first priority for me. I am also a freshman. For my sophomore year, I am looking to transfer.

Would anyone recommend this? Or is Babson probably a better place to stay at. Parents aren't really entrepreneurs, either, so....

Thanks.

Babson is a great business school, so I would stay there. Unless you are having a horrible time there of course.

lol how's babson ? I'm thinking about going there next year. is babson only good at entrepreneurship ?
btw, BU is good tho it has grade inflation (my guardian goes to BU) and you will meet bunch of smart students. but u gotta think about money. BU cost is high (tuition and everything for fun)

Well, I am not having a horrible time.

And no, I don't feel its good only at entrepreneurship, although its one of the best in that league. I feel it's other business aspects are very high. The environment is very business-like and being only a freshman here, I feel it prepares you well.

I think the cost between BU and Babson are really small. Only a few kids at Babson are probably concerned about money, as M3's and A6's are aplenty. But grade inflation, huh, not good. I like it because mainly of the city aspect, I can have more fun, I end up driving to the city far far too often.

Also, buying an apartment with friends at BU and Northeastern already, helps make my move easier.

But I mainly want to know is BU at the same level as Babson, which I have a feeling it is not.

I think BU is in higher level. I'm not BU student so I cannot say anything more. but looking at my guardian I think he's found his match.

Why don't you post this on the BU forum and ask current management students what they think of the program?

I don't know much about BU's business program (I have a degree in CS from BU) but Babson seems to be pretty well regarded. One of our engineers went to Babson part-time for his MBA and got hired to do consulting work with his newly minted degree.

Okay, thanks. I am getting an idea of what to do....probably not transfer.

ranga55, BU and Babson are roughly on the same ground when it comes UG Business. So I'd recommend you go with fit. Since you like BU better, transfer to BU.

imo u should stay in babson for another year and see if u fully like it
if u like to stay in another area, go to BU (but the junior year in BU is wicked tough, my guardian didn't sleep and take showers for 3 days to complete the project :/)

Ditto the above poster. SMG's junior year CORE project is intense madness.
