I applied Princeton Restrictive EA but applied early elsewhere too

I applied to Princeton restrictive EA but also applied EA to other schools. I know my chances for Princeton is low to begin with so I’m not concerned about Princeton but I am concerned about my other schools. (I am already accepted to one of the schools I EA to)

So you are violating the system. Do you have a question or are you just boasting.

Here are the rules:https://admission.princeton.edu/how-apply/application-dates-deadlines/single-choice-early-action. Anyone who thinks he/she can do the work at a school like Princeton should be able to follow such simple instructions.

It is fine if the other applications were to service academies, rolling admissions colleges and public colleges. If you applied EA to schools other than ones that fit this criteria you have violated the REA conditions and should ask Princeton to move your application to the RD pool.

@ClassicRockerDad no I’m not boasting. I’m wondering if the other schools will know and I am confused because my safety school already accepted me.

@happy1 yea clearly I don’t deserve to go to Princeton lol (no sarcasm I know what I did is stupid)

Were the colleges you applied to private?

Probably not the smartest idea to violate Princeton’s REA rules, however, as a practical matter, how would Princeton find out that OP applied EA somewhere else, and how would OP’s EA schools find out that he/she applied to Princeton REA? Do schools have the ability to determine that an applicant has applied elsewhere? Or maybe OP’s GC would have to inform since this could have the potential to harm future applicant’s from OP’s HS if word ever got out. There is a rumor at my kid’s HS that an applicant backed out of an ED commitment at an elite school several years ago and that school hasn’t accepted a single applicant from our HS since.

MODERATOR’S NOTE:
I’m missing the point of this thread, and since the OP is not forthcoming, I’m closing. But 2 things to keep in mind.

If the OP violated Princeton’s SCEA agreement, it not only jeopardizes his/her Princeton admissions, but also any other privates applied to in violation.

As the GC should not have completed the SSR for any schools that would violate the agreement, the GC has now jeopardized current and future applicants from that HS for those colleges.

I highly suspect that if the OP were so selfish as to attempt such a scheme, this character flaw probably manifested itself elsewhere in the application anyway. But for future applicants (and their parents), assume that it is not a question of if a college will find out, but when.
