Hello, I applied to two colleges and they both need transcript I brought one already and it says for the certain college on it but I also needed this transcript for another college. How can I just buy a transcript for any colleges and just make copies to send them without paying a fee to buy them.

Unless the transcript I brought is also good to send to the other college by making a copy. Let me know.

The fee for a transcript covers all college applications unless otherwise noted. You can just make a copy and send it off to the college, or even have your counselor fax the transcript just as you can fax college application fee waivers and SAT score reports.

OK–I just went back to read some of your other posts in order to get a better picture of your situation.
It appears that you are sending out transfer applications.

The answer to your question is that you will need to pay for each additional official transcript from your current college. Usually, you go to the registrar, give them the request and the address of the the colleges that you wish to have them sent to, and pay a fee for EACH official transcript.

You can’t just make copies of the transcript. The copies are not considered OFFICIAL.

Bedouin…what colleges do you know of that accept a student made COPY of the transcripts? Please…to the person with this question…if it is a college transcript you are requesting…yes, you will have to pay the PER TRANSCRIPT price for an official transcript sent directly from the college. If this is high school, if your school charges you will have to pay.

DO NOT xerox your own transcripts and send them. The colleges require that the transcript have a raised seal on it…that it is an official transcript mailed FROM THE SCHOOL to the college. NOT from the STUDENT.

Obviously, the student wouldn’t be making his copies himself but with the guidance counselor himself. That’s why I said have your counselor do it. Yikes!

Here’s what you wrote…“you can just makie a copy and send it to the college OR have your counselor fax the transcript…etc”.

Bedouin…say what you MEAN to say. If you meant to say…have your counselor MAKE copies and send them…then SAY THAT. Your post as written was inaccurate and misleading.

NO COPIES!!!

Bedouin, please do not give any more info to the OP. The OP is dealing with transfer applications from one college to another.

changetime: go to the registrar and make the request for official copies of your transcript to be sent. Make sure you have the proper addresses and give them to the registrar. The transcripts should be sent directly from the registrar and not from you. You will have to pay a fee for EACH transcript.

It doesn’t matter who does the xeroxing, when a college transcript is required, it must be an Official transcript, xerox copies are NOT acceptable.

I don’t want to let this go without comment. The vast majority of colleges require Official Score Reports from either the CB or ACT, the scores listed on your HS transcript are not official.

^correct.

changetime: regarding college transfer applications:

When sending professor recommendations, make sure they are in sealed envelopes with the signature of the professor written across the seal. If you are applying to 2 transfer colleges, make sure to ask each professor for 2 copies—each sealed in an envelope with the professor’s signature written across the seal.

If your transfer application requires you to submit SAT/ACT scores, you must have them sent directly from the source (college board or ACT.org). You will have to pay for each.
