I applied undecided to my top two choice schools so I would have a better chance of getting in, but I know I want to do Mechanical Engineering. I am borderline for both schools if I get in. So what would I have to do get into the engineering program and would I be able to graduate in 4 years?

At most schools you don’t have to commit until the end of frosh year so…

I didn’t apply engineering undecided, I applied just plain undecided.

It shouldn’t be that hard to switch into engineering. I don’t know what your schools require but see if you can request a major change

engineering in 4 years…ummm no. most people that begin in engineering finish in 4.5 or 5. …that is unless you want to graduate without any summer internships or research (which is a bad idea)
