i cannot believe this is happening.

so i got a 77 final avg for AP US History I during my sophomore year which is a C-.
now my average is a B+.

im about to get another C on my transcript for an honors math course.

my unweighted freshman year was 92.25
my unweighed sophomore year was 89.75
my unweighed right now is probably sitting somewhere between 91~93.

i have like 6 b's that 1 C so far, and about to get another C on my transcript. =(

will this KILL ME?

80% likely. An upward trend 89.9%–> 94% is not as critically look upon as a 94–> 90%.
6B’s and C? Thats definitely not a 90 average. Recalc ur percentage/GPA without unweighted, that’s most Ivy’s do it.

I’m very sorry about being so grim about this but I think you’re done as far as Upenn goes…

Maybe look a little more into other schools? It doesn’t have to be this one for happiness and success

no no i mean other than my A’s, i have 6 b’s and a c right now…

I think you also have to factor in your class rank… If those are your grades and you’re still in the top 10 percent, you could have a shot.

yea class rank is far more important…also colleges like to see resilency.

well i wont know my rank until i get my final report card.
right now im at 11% though.

If you’re not in the top 10%, you’re basically ****ed, unless you have an excellent hook.

[Penn Admissions: Incoming Class Profile](http://www.admissionsug.upenn.edu/profile/)

Only 3% in the second decile were admitted, and you better bet that those were virtually all recruited athletes, URMs, etc.

god. so im basically screwed.

I think you really need to be a lot more realistic. From your earlier chance post, with an SAT score near your 157 PSAT, < top 10% rank, and being an Asian from New Jersey, your chances are EXTREMELY slim. There’s always graduate school/ transferring… just be more open with your school choices.

oh my psat score is bad, yeah i know. but my SATs are close to 2000 and im taking the ACTs in september with a prediction of 31-32.

i know there are other schools out there, i just can’t find another school that i love as much as i love penn.

I’m sorry, but if you are indeed an Asian male from New Jersey with those statistics, your chances are extremely slim.

Perhaps you should take a look at this thread:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-pennsylvania/676360-need-some-matches-safeties-similar-penn.html

Near-zero chance

lol hey, if you send in a really inspiring application that shows your passion for Penn, you could have a shot. haha like your name says “dontstopbelievin”. I would work on your standardized test scores and GPA a lot.

Hey, this is cheesy but seriously just read your username. You’re only a sophomore? Start acing school NOW. Gear up. Kill your next three semesters. You aren’t going anywhere remarkable with an “I’m screwed” attitude at the start of your junior year… that’s an important year.

Just let this motivate you to do better, because if you give up on doing well in school right now, then it’ll hurt your chances at other schools too. This isn’t just about Penn.

im a rising senior. so you guys think if i write some awesome essays it might possibly cover for the C’s? well im not positive of the second C yet, but theres a good chance my final avg will be that.

There’s no way to know. All you can do is try to write the best essays you can.

okay thanks to all who gave encouragements

Take steroids?
