So your EFC wasn’t $2,000, it was $5,842.
So was your EFC $2000 when you filed FAFSA (with estimates?) and then when you were verified the EFC increased to where you no longer qualified for Pell?
Before you give up, check into it more. Pell grant is $5815 max.
It wasn’t going to pay for all your costs either.
If your family income is really under $60k and you can transfer to Texas A&M and get Aggie Assurance with free tuition, then how much would you need for housing and food (on campus or off campus)?
As a sophomore you can take out $6500 student loan. You can work in the summer and make $3000 or more, can your parents help out at all with college costs?
Which year? 2015-2016 or the current year…2016-2017? So your actual FAFSA EFC was $5842, not $2000. Your FAFSA EFC needs to be about $5000 or less to be eligible for, even a portion of the Pell Grant. Yours was not that low.
Did you complete the 2017-2018 FAFSA also?
What was your FAFSA EFC for this current school year…2016-2017?
OP I am going to echo another post. You have some very experienced posters who are trying to help you. It is in your best interest to come back and keep at this until you figure it out.
