I just found out that I was rejected from USC today.....I just find this really weird because I was accepted to Berkeley, UCLA, and NYU....anyone else find this weird?

Yeah I think im gonna get rejected to, and i have better stats than these kids at my school who got in. I personally think all of the letters going out from here on out are rejections :/, but hopefully im wrong!

Yeah I find that really weird... I don't know what these guys are thinking this year. People are getting rejected who shouldn't be. =(

Adore88,

Sorry to hear it. What is your stats?

I dont find it weird at all. USC is a better school than UC Berkeley and UCLA in terms of undergraduate academics. Case in point, USC has had higher SAT scores than all of the UCs for the past three years.

I am curious to find out what the new freshman admittance stats are. Care to elaborate on your rejection letter? I heard that the new stats are: 1400 SAT, 4.0 GPA. Is this true?

USC Grad- BS/BA

HAHAHA, USC better than UCB and UCLA?? Statistically speaking, UCB and UCLA are much more selective than their trojan counterpart; but I must say, congrats on your acceptances to the finest public schools in America, I'm sure USC made a mistake

What the hell are you talking about? What statistics are you talking about?

I got the following information from the College Board website, which tracks test scores and sends them to the school of your choice.

USC SAT- Verbal 610-700, Math 640-720, ACT- 27-31

UC Berkeley SAT- Verbal 570-700, Math 620-740, ACT None

UCLA SAT- Verbal 550-670, Math 590-720, ACT 22-29

2004 Admit rate

USC: 26%

UC Berkeley: 24%

UCLA: 24%

The admissions officers say that this year's avg is 4.0 and 1400.

I'm in the exact same situation as the topic creator.

This year, UCLA got 42,000+ applicants and accepted about 4,300, a little more than 10%!

That's not true. If you look it up on their website, UCLA admitted about 11,000 applicants but only around 4,000 actually matriculate. In a letter that says something like, "we had over 42,000 people apply but only 4,000 spots" that's just them saying that that's how many people were in last year's freshman class. But most of the admits didn't actually accept their admission.

they actually accepted about 27%. Look at this link.

Looks like USC will have a lower admit rate this year compared to UCLA.

Will USC be releasing the official stats for this year's admission process on their website? I mean, this can't continue to be just hearsay for any longer.
