It's saying I have to finish MyAlcoholEdu before I get to view my grades. My friend said he finished part 1 after 2 hours but has to wait 30 days before he can finish part 2...

so anyone know another way to see your grades? Thanks!

Not to be clueless…but does everyone have to complete this or is this a “I got in trouble thing” and this is the price? Just a curious parent…sorry to answer your question with a question…lol

[AlcoholEdu for College](<a href=“Page Not Found”>Page Not Found)

First I’m hearing of this.

Everyone has to do this. I never drink. I have never gotten in trouble either.

It looks like students are suppose to take this before even get onto campus in Fall. Do they discuss this at Freshman Orientation? When I read the info on the website it said you were expected to take the course but didn’t say anthing like holding grades, etc. Anyone?

My memory is a little foggy but I believe all students will get an email this summer explaining the course. The program is actually pretty lengthy (4 hours?) and is broken into 2 parts which must be taken a certain period after the 1st part. The first part is expected to be finished around when the Fall semester starts and those that haven’t done it yet get a follow up email with some kind of threat like a bar from registration. Many students don’t check their email as much as they should and have to face the consequences.

Honestly, it’s not high school anymore and you should be more aware of these things (i.e. checking your email). If it came to this then you’ve probably already received several notices. If this website (<a href=“Sign in with your UT EID - Stale Request”>Sign in with your UT EID - Stale Request) doesn’t work then your other option is to email your professor/TA personally. And you should probably start AlcoholEdu while you’re at it.

I have only recieved one notice before, before the semester, but it never said anything about holding grades…they should be more specific about the consequences, the email made it sound optional. All my other friends didnt do it either, because they thought the same.

It was really obvious last year, so I don’t know what to tell you. You really have to keep on top of all this stuff.

I was actually spammed with multiple e-mails stating that it was mandatory. Maybe you just don’t remember… that sucks that they withhold your grades from you because of that though =/
sorry to hear that

AlcoholEdu is the most annoying thing ever… you have to sit through this whole course and watch all these silly videos and it just takes so long… sure, it could be helpful if you’re actually making an effort to learn the material, but as for me, I just went through the motions and now I couldn’t tell you one thing I learned. Haha. It’s definitely mandatory though and just one of the many things UT tries to use to bar you from registering/seeing grades/graduating etc.

The University doesn’t set out to try to keep you from doing any of those things! It’s their main tool to get students to act as adults and do what they’re supposed to.

I think it’s lame propaganda, though. It took me forever to finish and very inconvenient. Can’t they just make it less than an hour to finish? I never drink and do not plan to either, so it’s pretty much 5 hours wasted for me.

I don’t see how it’s propaganda at all when they’re not telling you to refrain from drinking - they only tell you how to drink responsibly.
but haha, yeah it does take too long… which is why I used something to skip all the dumb videos lol
