i can't sleep at night!

Alright, so I really want to go to University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
But it bothers me so much wondering if its too late to help my chances of getting in!

I have a 3.5 weighted gpa, but 2.8 unweighted.

Granted, my school's grading scale is 100-95=A, 94-88=B, 81-87=C, and under a 75 is failing, these are my first semester, junior year grades:

Computer Info Tech: B
Art Design: B
Trig: B
Music Appreciation: A
AP Italian: C
AP Gov: C
AP English: C

This semester, I have only one C, which is in Computer Info Tech. I'm studying really hard for the ACT in April, and on my practice ACT sophomore year, I got a 25. I think I'll get around a 30.

Do you think my unweighted GPA and C's will hurt my admission, given the grading scale at my school and high test scores/extracurriculars?

Even though that is a very unorthodox grading scale, your unweighted GPA might make admission fairly tough. Don’t settle for a 30 on the ACT. My composite score increased 7 points from sophomore to junior year. You’d need a pretty high score (33+) to compensate for that GPA imo.

Ya you need to work on your ACT because if you get a high school that will really make a path for you and could possibly get you in despite your GPA

If you’re in-state you may have a chance. If your out of state then forget it, sorry.

His location is “Chicago”…

Then he has a chance.

^lol. (10char)

I would be frustrated to but remember it’s university of illinois at Urbana-Champaign. you still have shot so don’t worry.

Yeah to keep things in perspective, U of I has a 69% acceptance rate. Another variable to consider is the college to which you’re applying. Engineering is significantly tougher to get into than Arts & Sciences.

I’m trying to get into the college of media. Also, I’m a girl. =P

I have no idea, lol - but good luck :).

I don’t see a lab science in your high school schedule. That’s going to hurt you.
