Is anyone else obsessive compulsive about checking the status of his/her application? I have to check at least 3 times a day, sometimes only a couple hours apart.

I believe they only update once a day.. around 3 or 4.

thanks...maybe i'll be able to control myself now and only THINK about checking every 2 hours. :)

For ED, i had my GC call several times about my 'missing' pieces to my application, they said on like the 3rd phone call that they haven't even processed all the mail, and most times things from the same evelope don't get processed at the same time. Not sure why, but i was told that. Anyway, it ended up that my GC didn't send her rec, so we faxed it that day and everything was fine.

how do you check your status online?

nevermind i figured it out lol

Lol guys, relax..
If they're missing anything they'll usually inform you thru email, and give you about a couple weeks to get them ready, so no worries at all..

ok i was deferred ED and when i log into the website my name is there and there are 3 links but they took out the one where i can check my stats! im freaking out why did they do that????? :(

Whoa that's really weird..

I sent my cornell essays form about a month ago, and it still hasn't shown up on the Cornell site as "recieved." I'm kind of getting worried.

It took a long time for my SAT scores to appear on the site too, longer than the waiting period they suggested. But if you get worried, call them up.

aaaaa12, no worries, I was deferred as well and the same thing shows up.

ok thanks! i'm just making sure they didn't like already read my application again and reject me or something haha

Can you say OCD?

I understand that you're anxious, but checking multiple times each day doesn't make results come more quickly. Just relax, and TRY to enjoy your senior year...

umm...yeah, i did say ocd, in fact they were among the first five words in my post.

Being obsessively compulsive and having an obsessive complusive disorder are two very different things...While you mentioned the former, I refered to the latter....in case you were wondering, or think I am incapable or reading...

??? ajkates, are you having a bad day or something? because if you are, i'm sorry and i hope you feel better. i just posted something to share my feelings during this down time and first you're kind of rude, then you insinuate that i can't enjoy my senior year, and finally top it off by implying that I thought you were incapable of reading...which by the way, i don't...sometimes people just miss things when they are skimming posts. there's no need to take offense when there was none meant.
it's like checking email...even though you're not expecting anything, you still check it when you have free time.

haha haosquared i totally did the same thing when i applied early. cuz all my teachers sent in stuff late so i was frantically checking my status every day when i got home from school. don't worry. it takes them a long time to process stuff. and if you're really worried u can call them. they're nice in the admissions office

same here! i cant help checking my app status everytime i start thinking of college! its like that's the only time i'm with cornell sorta thing. sigh and yeah, mine's taking a looooooong time too. and funny, columbia says they received my recs but not my school report though they were in the same envelope... atleast cornell's better of that way. they dont get you worried about incomplete applications!
