You need to look at your record. This is your legal right, and even if you didn't have a ? about the cheating incident, it still would be a good idea to look in the record. All students should do this to make sure their records are accurate.

I received a 0 for the quiz. The teacher marked the 0 with a star in her gradebook, so I don't think she'll forget that easily. I still got an A for the marking period though.

Ask to see your record. You have the right to access your record. Once you note that its not on your record, move on.

it's probably not there. seems like an everyday incident to me. and cheating doesn't mean u're a bad student or a student with no integrity, unless u do it repeatedly, which u didn't.

someone i know wrote about how he learned from the experience of getting caught cheating and related it to college honor code. he got into ivy (and the incident had happened during his senior year) so don't worry.

dont feel ashamed or anything.......i cant count how many times i cheated on tests in highschool.........i was just very unmotivated......the highschool curriculum overall was a joke to me.......and i was really looking forward to college where i could actually start studying stuff pertaining to the career i wanted to pursue(thank god im about to start college lol)......

but anyway, i highly doubt its on your record....TOO many students cheat.......if it were the SATS then i'd be worried lol(i cant imagine how dumb one would have to be to cheat on the SATS).......but by 12th grade year, most people mature and cheating just becomes silly and pointless......

i HIGHLY DOUBT that records are sent out to the colleges......your transcripts are sent out but i dont think your records are...if universities payed attention to records, i wouldnt be in college.........i was in detention for months because i hadnt handed in my senior project on time.......and i was in additional times for not doing my homework, misconduct, coming to school late,etc...........i also got "busted" for plagiarism(i quote busted because it wasnt deliberately done.....i did the project like two days before it was due and consequently, it was rushed..... some portions of the paper were just online info, paraphrased....i got a 0/100 for the project, which brought my history grade down to an 83).........i remember it like it was yesterday lol.........

again, dont worry AT ALL.......you'll be fine.....

Cheating is the path to damnation! It will forever hover above your consience like an evil dark cloud until you can't take it anymore, ultimately commiting suicide and being sent into the fiery pits of hell!

LOL!.......careful man....just in case OP is oblivious to your sarcasm.......we dont want to make him/her even more depressed......

Thanks Carl.

In a way, I think it's a good thing that you're worried about this. It says a lot about your integrity. I also think you've punished yourself enough for this mistake by fretting over it for the last 4 years. Ask to see your record and when you find nothing about it just move on.

That is absolutly nothing! They don't keep things like that on permanent records. Honestly, that is rediculously small, majority of people have WAY worse, and no one cares. Like the guy before me said, do yourself a favor and don't mention it~ oh and don't get caught!!

heres my 2 cents....

a friend of mine got caught cheating on his AP calc test. THE AP ITSELF!

yea he had the formulas on the brim of his bright orange hat, idiot. But anyway he ended up going to colgate ahaha. Hope that boosts your confidence at all. Its really prob not a big deal.

The only way i see this hurting you is if you try to run for president and your teacher is a mean SOB and brings it up during your campaign...grr that slander!

Not to steal the topic or anything but I have question regarding such a thing: (1) Are permanent records sent to colleges and (2) are elementary mishaps (3rd & 5th grade) put on our permanent records and thenn sent to middle school, then high school?

This topic just got me worried like crazy.

"If science was your best class, I think the teacher would have forgiven you for that one''

To the contrary, given that you were caught cheating, the teacher might question why science was your best class...

I really don't think it'll be on your permanent record. I would suggest that you don't get a recommendation from that teacher, however.

lmao^^^^

Prestige, good question. I really don't know. It may, depending how serious it was. Were you specifically told it would go on your permanent record? And I don't think that your "record" gets sent, I just think they ask the GC to go through your record to see if their is anything to know about, or maybe they send it only if there is something bad on it. I'm not sure. But at any rate, you must figure out whether it is going to be seen by the colleges. If it is, you have to explain it in detail and bs about about how it changed your life for the better, etc. Also, I don't think they are going to care all that much about 3rd or 5th grade stuff.

I also have a question on that topic. I'm really not sure if I have anything on my permanent record, but I may. Would that ever be sent to a college? Is that legal? If they can see my permanent record, then can I see it? And how would I go about doing that?
