I was just curious what other schools people considered before making the decision to attend. I will be attending in the fall and considered Middlebury, Bard, and Franklin and Marshall before making my final decision.
Can you please let me know the reasons why you decided to attend skidmore
@Shaymaa Hello,
There were a few reasons that helped me decide on Skidmore. A big thing that stood out to me when finalizing my decision was Skidmore’s rise to a top NE LAC. For someone that wanted to be in the Northeast and attend a good LAC, Skidmore was a great fit. I was also an athletic recruit and had the opportunity to talk to students and alumni who were doing some stellar work in their respective fields. Being interested in finance and banking, I talked to one alumni who held a successful career at Goldman Sachs and went on to begin his own start-up.
The professors here are attentive and FYE makes sure you are well-equipped for a great liberal arts education, while having the opportunity to take on a more pre-professional track.
Skidmore has just finished phase one of four of a state of the art science center called C.I.S. which will have over 200,000 square feet of new and renovated space. I’d say it will rival science centers at even larger universities from what I have seen.
Skidmore is a great option for an open-minded intellectual type, but also for someone who wants to pursue a pre-professional track like I had mentioned above.
Let me know if you have any other specific questions!
In the meantime, Skidmore isn’t for everybody and I always encourage people to find their fit. If you are interested in Skidmore, but maybe it isn’t for you, students here usually have cross-application/accepted at Vassar, Bard, Wesleyan, Amherst and Conn College.
Thread a little old, but in case it helps someone. D chose Skidmore over Conn College, BU, UMass Amherst, Mt Holyoke, UVM, Wheaton… She just put in her deposit and is excited for Skidmore!
Old post. Closing.
