as to why I chose williams over dartmouth, I was really turned off by the party atmosphere. I mean, I visited on a wednesday night and my hosts took me to their sorority. Afterwards, we went to the library and studied. for 2 hours. ugh. I also felt that I liked williams size better and that its students weren't choosing it based on name recognition (while this is certainly not true across the board, the guy at dartmouth that I asked why he chose it said "it's ivy league" and left it at that) Williams seemed like a much better fit for me (I'm so not a sorority girl).

My D turned down ED invitations to apply at Harvard, Wesleyan, Wellesley, Wheaton, Stonehill (and others) and full rides from some very nice D1's.

She's thrilled, as we all are, that she's attending Williams. She had visited many colleges, all of which were outstanding. We would have been happy for her to attend any of them.

Regarding Williams; She whispered in my ear as we were touring the campus; "This is where I really want to go, but I don't know if I can get in." ....She did, and isn't looking back.
We're delivering our D to one of the the best educational environments on the planet on August 29.
