I was just looking at what books my daughter will need to buy. One class asks for an i-clicker. They have them available to rent from the GW bookstore for about $17 or to buy there or at various places for about twice that much. My question is, can you use the same clicker in the future if other classes ask for one? (in which case it's probably better to buy one now and just keep it) Are they programmed or something for a specific class, etc? I know nothing about these things. Thanks.

They aren’t programmed for a specific class, but i know there are two different types used in the university. In my case, the astro and chem departments used different clicker models. I would buy it; if she is a frosh chances are she would need it again in the future. If not, sell it to a friend ($17 is a ridiculous price to rent this thing).
