First things first, I took the January SATs and was scheduled to send them to all my colleges that I applied too.

Turns out, I didn't designate score recipients and I checked my profile 2 days after scores came out, and saw that none of my Jan scores were sent.

So on Feb 17th, I rush them to Stanford and Cornell because the admissions rep at both schools told me Jan SAT would be timely, but they would accept it if it came in time.

At the same time, I regularly report them to Yale, Princeton, and Dartmouth because all accepts January SATs.

I call Princeton, and the lady tells me I need to rush report. Okay? So I call collegeboard on the 19th, tell them to change regular reports to YPD to rush.

And as of right now, the request is still pending for all of those colleges, which is really irritating me.

Do you think it'll be sent okay? I'm worried because decisions are being made and my score boost was pretty high. DAMNIT.

villanovagirl, I think the OP was looking for a little reassurance from those posters who may have had some experience with this. You don't have to be RUDE to her. Unbelievable how some people treat others. Asianspride, the regular scores can take up to two weeks to send, while rush scores go out in a matter of days. Why not call them to verify whether or not they have gone out and if they can help you switch to rushing the scores if you need to. Good luck!

because sometimes common sense is just not there....what ever we say is irrelvant...he/she needs to CALL and follow through...and if he called college board yesterday, he should have called all the colleges...and no offense, but if you are applying to all the Ivys...you need to be on top of everything...you slip, your fault...if we say, oh its gonna all be there, no problems, we do no one any good...he should have called ALL the schools on Friday...sometimes things don't get logged in right away

I understnad villanovagirl's response...this is the OP's life and he needs to take care of business...

Well, not ALL kids have the support of knowledgable parents like YOU to help them. And they may be foreign to how things are done and trying to process all this stuff on their own. My kids have friends that I have helped because their parents either are not interested or don't have the capabilities to help them. I guess I don't understand a MOM being rude to a child who asks for help and reassurance. Even another student should have some empathy, especially one from a religious school. I just don't understand. If you had nothing nice to say, you should have just left the child alone!

First of all mizzou-mom, you need to relax. I'm not being rude. I'm just stating what I think the poster should do. If you want to find out if your scores are there call the school and ask them. That's the best way since us here on CC don't know what college board or the colleges said. In fact, you told the poster to do the same thing as me! Make a phone call. And btw, I don't appreciate you telling me to have some empathy especially because I'm from a religious school. I would appreciate it if you stayed out of my business and got a life instead of arguing on a college discussion board with a bunch of students. Or maybe you just like to think you know everything about the college process since you did say you help all of your child's friends. Thank you citygirls mom for your support. And I'm sorry Asianspride if you think I seemed rude.

Thanks for a reminder, Asianspride!
Just checked Collegeboard. My daughter requested that her scores are sent on Dec 15, as soon as she got them - request is still pending...
Previously it looked like cores were send fast, in a few ays. But formally they can take "one to two weeks" to E-mail them. As for rush reports - they send them very quickly, but as far as I understood, rush reports are not sent for at least a week after the scores appear on the web.

Most schools take FOREVER to update your application profile. If you're stressed, just call the admissions office and they will gladly check your file to see if they've recieved your scores. Also, the SAT tends to send scores to schools in batches every two-three weeks (I think...that's what about half of the schools I talked to told me).

Well Yale definitely havent received them and they update daily so I'd imagine none have reached any institution because my rush report request is still "pending". I mean if collegeboard says the requests are still pending, then I would assume they havent been sent yet.

I'd imagine the reports will be there by the beginning of March. Do you think thats fine for the institutions that accept January SAT?

And no, I dont think any of you are rude. Thank you for helping me along this stressful process (which I have had to go through by myself unfortunately).

Oh, and VNgirl, yes, I have helped two friends of my son's. His best friend's dad passed away in a crash in the fall. His mom has three kids and a new job and asked me to help him with his colleges. My son's GF's mom has breast cancer and their family is in bad shape with all the chemo, radiation, stem cells, etc. So yes, I have been helping her, too. Like I said, empathy, VN girl. It's not like an ego trip for me. I wish to God that these kids didn't need such help.

Since you say the score reports haven't been received and your scores went up significantly, you might talk to your guidance counselor and see if she can call the schools to tell them about your scores and maybe fax over something unofficially. That way schools can use the scores in the admissions process and validate them once the score reports come in. My counselor told me she would be able to call things like that in if I messed up or forgot or something, so it's worth a try.

It's best to FAX when the admissions office is open. That way you can telephone the admissions office shortly after you send the FAX and have the person you talk to on the phone check and see if the FAX has arrived. Explain that the official scores have been rushed, but you wanted to give them some data to work with in the meantime. With any luck, the person who checks the FAX for you will also put it into your file and process it for you. A way to facilitate this is to ask, very politely, if as long as you have the person on the phone, would they mind taking a look at your file to be absolutely sure that everything else they need is there. Good luck!

I agree that you should call and ask if they came in yet; and, if not, if you could fax them an unofficial copy -- you can also send a copy of your receipt that shows you ordered them.

I agree with hpg90 that you shouldn't worry, the official scores will get there, but do think that you should pursue the plan of FAXing what you've got asap even though it is unofficial.

Another possibility, depending on your relationship with your GC, would be to get her involved. If you explain your situation in a calm way, and especially if she has some sort of a relationship with the admissions representatives from the schools in question, maybe she could give them a call. This could also give her an excuse to remind them that you're a strong candidate and to (at least implicitly) give the message that your school supports your application.

print out the the page which says "a printout version of this page will not be accepted..." and get it attested by your school and then fax it...colleges actually prefer you do this since they don't recieve any comission from the $10 you pay to collegeboard
