I didn't take the same AP Lang Exam as everyone else last year (???)

So, after the AP Lang exam last year I was talking to my friend about how expensive college was and he said, “Yeah…you wrote an essay about that today.”

And I thought, “What? No I didn’t…” But didn’t think much of it.

Fast forward to now, I went to check out of curiosity if one of my essays because a sample essay, only to discover that the essay prompts on AP Central were not the same prompts that I had. I assumed maybe they only listed one form of the test, but lo and behold there is a note that says Form B is also listed but the practice of giving Form B exams was discontinued.

I hit up the old CC threads for AP Lang 2014, and every comment that gives even a hint to what the prompts were lines up with the prompts listed on the website and not the test that I took.

My synthesis was about advertising to kids, my rhetorical analysis was an essay written by a woman, and my persuasive was about the power of books. I’ve seen nothing to indicate that other people had these prompts too, or that there were even multiple forms of the test.

What the heck? Did I somehow not take the same exam as everyone else? What do y’all think this could be?

The College Board uses several versions of the AP exam for some subjects, so yes, you took a different exam.
