I don't know how to write essays about myself.

But I can write stories about myself...
So far, all of my college essays have been stylistically like...prose. Dialogue, imagery, etc. It's not until the very end of the essay that I can manage to pull the stories together to explain who I am as a person.

Is this a problem? How should I fix it?

If you go into yourself with sufficient depth at the end, it shouldn't be a problem.

I don't believe it should be a real problem, it might even be a plus as it's creative. Just make sure it's not fantastical in any way and that you truly make them see who you are and what your interests are.
