I don't know...should I be happy or sad with this?

I was ****ting my pants the last few weeks about my Gen Chem II grade. I had a B and I thought I was going to end up with a C. I checked my grade online today and somehow I got an A. I must have destroyed the Final. Doesn't matter to me anyway this was the hardest class I've taken so far :D . But I saw my lab grade and I got a C. No idea how that happened. Day class ended I reviewed the prof's gradebook and he was missing 5 out of my 7 labs that I had turned in. Basically the entire semester was a disaster in lab b/c we had a sub the whole time (original prof got really ill) and he had no idea how to grade labs so he kept handing them off to someone else and we never got them back. Anyway long story short, my guess is that he didn't know how to grade my labs and just figured a C would suffice.

Lecture was worth I think 4 credits and the lab was worth 2, so obviously getting an A in lecture is better but that C in lab is annoying. When I apply to med school, do you think they'll care much about that?

You need to contact the professor and inform him of what happened. Do not accept a C because someone else messed up.

Well to be honest I did a terrible job on them anyway when I turned them in so even if they were graded correctly, I wouldn’t be surprised if I got a C but I’m just concerned about whether a C in lab looks bad on your transcript even if you got an A in lecture.

Does it look bad? Yes, it’s not an A. Does it spell game over? Probably not. I’d still complain about losing the labs.

Ask him for a grade on each lab, and that you want to meet him to go over them to see what you got wrong. You always have a right to dispute a grade, he can’t just give you a C because he lost your labs. If anything you should get an A for lost labs.
