Hi. I am a junior and am taking regents chem. So far it has been the most stress full class this year. All my other classes i have 90 +, but for chem i have 80-90s. I really need all my class avgs above 90 for my gpa, since i screwed up in freshmen year and got a 78 final avg. (88 final avg last year). We had 2 test so far, on the first one i got a 85 and 2nd 81. For the 2nd i stayed after for review and studied at home for at least 6 hours. I was very surprised on the 2nd test because i put a lot of effort into it, study wise and felt very confident after the test. On the 2nd test i got only 4 multiple choice wrong out of 42 and 3/5 short answers right. Right now we are doing Matter and energy and i don't get any of it, i also don't have the best teacher. I tried to look up vids on Youtube/Internet but was not able to find anything good. I don't know what to do!! Also i know a 80-90 is not the worst but i feel like i can do much better but i don't know how to. Can any one give me any tips if they took chem? What did you do to study? When i study for chem i looked over all my notes/packet / and old regents questions. Thanks for your time! :D

Exactly, what do you mean by matter and energy?

Khan academy is your best friend

Okay, I don’t know what Regents Chemistry is like, but this list of resources increases in intensity as it goes down. I’m taking AP Chemistry, and some of these have helped me out some.

Crash Course. It provides a nice overview of topics. It’s nice for a first look at something you’re about to learn in class, but I wouldn’t recommend it for in-depth understanding.

Same with Bozeman, to be honest. Probably better than Crash Course though.

Renee provides in depth understanding with multiple practice problems and resources. She’s like my second teacher. I don’t know if it’d be necessary for what you’re learning in your class, but it’s worth checking out.

Thanks for the reply. Matter And energy is the unit we are in. It deals with chemical /physical change/ Separation of mixtures/ Energy(We did not start that part yet) and much more related stuff with matter/energy

Thanks for the reply! I Completely forgot about KH. I used it before for Alg/ And SAT studying. Ill try it for Chem

Thanks for all those links!

You can also try Brightstorm on YouTube. I used those videos to study for Chem last year.
