So I’m going to college next fall (University of Northern Colorado) and I’ve been looking at majors since I have to declare a major before I get to the college and I have a general idea of what I want to do. I really love cultures and learning about different countries and people but this is where my dilemma comes in. I’m debating between International Affairs or Anthropology. I like the cultural emphasis in International affairs but it’s mostly just politics and that’s not really what I’m interested in. Anthropology focuses more on Archeology than culture though and I don’t know which I want to go into! Help?!
Most Anthropology programs include several courses on Cultural Anthropology. Univ of Northern Colorado does offer a minor in Multicultural Anthropology which seems to fit your interests.
Why don’t you major in one and minor in the other? It sounds like your primary interest lies in international affairs, so picking a major in that and minoring in (or taking some coursework in) multicultural anthropology might satisfy both interests.
