i don't think i can get into boarding school

I am a good athlete and do extracurriculars but I have all B+ from last year and my 1st semester report card is probably going to be B+, A- which is not good enough for schools like taft, deerfield, st pauls, lawrenceville etc :frowning: . is there anything I can do to increase my chances of admission. I am so unhappy at my current school and NEED to go to boarding school. any suggestions are appreaciated (btw applying for repeat 10th)

There are many boarding schools you could get into. You simply need to expand your list. What about St.Andrews, Episcopal, Concord Academy, Lawrence Academy, plus so so many others that I have seen mentioned here.

If no one on CC has good ideas of schools for you it might be worth it to have one meeting with a BS advisor to help you create a list of schools that you would love and you could get into.

Possibly the Millbrook School, it’s a great school, with it’s own zoo. If you are a boy, The Salisbury School, or Avon Old Farms.

Be confident as your start this journey! There are students with different backgrounds, talents, athletic ability, interests, etc at boarding schools. I do think that presenting yourself with confidence will be a plus. Bon Chance!

If you play any sports seriously, you should try Taft! They take a lot of recruits, and usually the grades needed to get it can be a little bit lower if you talk to the coaches.

There are so many wonderful boarding schools out there where you could thrive! Be sure to check out Brewster, Tabor, Governor’s, Pomfret, Wilbraham & Monson Academy, Cushing, Millbrook, St. George, Portsmouth Abbey, and Williston Northhampton if you are looking for co-ed schools.

I bet you’d love at least 3-4 of those schools and I suspect they would love you back.

Please check them out and report back?
