Calm down!! Hyperventilating will not change any of the admission decisions, so just relax, and check on Thursday! I’m also waiting for some decisions this week… but I’m not too anxious about it. I wish you all the best…:)

As a good friend once told me, there is no sense in worrying unless you plan to take some action. Try making three lists - each one containing things you will need to do and questions you will need to ask in the event of an acceptance, a wait listing or a rejection. Come Thursday night, you can tear up two of them and put the third to good use.

Perhaps you will only need two. I imagine that Juilliard’s yield is fairly high and therefore reasonably predictable, so maybe they do not do wait lists. Does anyone know for sure?

Every morning I wake up and think “I made it through another night.” This is a LONG week, but I’m confident when all is said and done, our kids will all be great! Good luck everyone!!!

I have been told that they do waitlist kids…One year a girl out DD school was indeed waitlisted for VP…She was offered a position in different studio or she could be waitlisted for teacher she wanted…Decided to be waitlisted…spot opened…she got in.

Yes, Juilliard definitely does wait-lists. A friend of mine was wait-listed for double bass last year and ended up getting in and getting a full scholarship!

I can’t resist jumping in as you’re all talking about War and Peace. It just so happens I am revising the Maude translation and working on a new edition of War and Peace for Oxford University Press. I took the assignment as a kind of occupational therapy but I most definitely cannot keep my mind on it (or anything but conservatory acceptances).

You all entertain me! Well, even though I do not have any connections to Juilliard, I will be checking this thread Thursday night!! This is better than reality tv!! I am wishing all of you the best!

Even though DD decided not to pursue Julliard, I still watch for those acceptances every year and cheer on those who try. Good luck to everyone who gave it a go.
