Dear College Confidential viewers,

I enrolled in a course in the 4th week of instruction, and I haven't attended either lecture or section until now. I enrolled in a course with section via TeleBEARS. I'm wondering if I can start going to class next week and be officially in the course. Thank you very much for your help. I wish you the very best.

You can, but should probably email the instructors/GSIs first about what you need to catch up on – whatever assignments have already been turned in, etc. I think you also pay a $10 fee or whatever for enrolling in a class late.

I haven’t enrolled in a class this late before, but it is awfully tempting since I’m starting to hate one of my classes. Ugh. Let me know how it goes.

btw does anyone know of teachers who are ok (or even welcoming) to students enrolling late?

Dude same here, except i enrolled late into all my classes. OMG I’m so scared

@birdhouse, I got in Edu 186AC course. This course is amazing. Professor Shaiken is wonderful. But there are tons of readings to catch up on, and first mid-term is next Monday. Thanks for the reply, man. Your words were a great help. Edu 186AC highly recommended, this course is so f’ing awesome. I think there’s still space in lecture and section available. There’s just 2 mid-terms and a final. No home works and attendance is in grade, so no penalty for late enrollment.

@lopezgeog, Man, I feel sorry for you. I feel like crap having to catch up on 4 weeks of lectures and readings on a course. I wish you the very best. I think you’re quite screwed from the start. I’m more worried about you than about me now.

Hey, that’s cool that you’ve found a good class! Good luck catching up.

As for me, I talked with L&S advisors and the FinAid office and both said it was okay if I went under 13 units. I was surprised they were so accepting of it! Granted, I’m a graduating senior and only need one more class this semester to graduate. So, L&S says I could just take that one class minimum. As for FinAid, going under 12 units doesn’t automatically mean you lose your gift aid (!!). Depends on the number of units you’ll have (over 6). Yesss. So I’m only going to take 9 units for the rest of the semester. :)

Someone on Reddit says L&S won’t do anything if you go under 13 units the first time. For anyone reading this later, perhaps you should consider going under 12/13 units instead of adding a class four or five weeks in.

lopezgeog, oh wow, good luck with that. I’ll respond to your other thread.
