A professor I would lovelovelove to take a class from is teaching one -- and only one -- this fall. I would enroll in this class in a heartbeat; there are no restrictions on me doing so save one.

I've taken the class before.

It was with a different professor, but I didn't fail the class and it's not one of those variable topic classes (to my knowledge).

Is there any way to take this class (does Berkeley even have an "audit" system?), or will I just have to informally sit in on it?

Why not just show up for lecture? Do you want graded homework too? I wonder if it is possible to officially audit it, I know you can during the summer...

I could just show up for lecture, but I would like for the class to show up on my transcript. I would also like a legitimate reason to bug the professor during office hours. I know they're open to having people talk to them outside of the class sometimes, but it's a lot easier if you're taking something from them.

The class is English 105 - Anglo-Saxon England. It's with Professor O'Brien O'Keeffe who is tops in her field, gave an excellent talk this past semester, and was just hired to Berkeley (from Nortre Dame!) as our new Old English scholar. I am such a nerd and I am so excited. :D
