I failed the physics regents

So I have passed all my regents but I failed the physics one. I plan on applying to only schools in NYC and I was wondering how that plays a role in college apps? Like will colleges care that I failed one regent?

Im currently a junior and I’m going to be a senior next year and the only time to take the physics regents again is in January, when college apps will already be due

I don’t think final exams show up on transcripts. Atleast on mine it just shows the subject and the final grade. Your teachers probably make the regents count for the final so in that case it’s probably 10-20% of the final grade. In other words, say you got 100 for 4 quarters in physics (20% per quarter) and failed the final (for simplicity, lets say you got a 0). Your transcript (depends on the school) would most probably say:

Physics: 80

Instead of

Physics : 80 Regents: 0
