NYS regents procedure

does any1 know what happens when you fail a regents...

physics was really hard and im worried lol...does the school call u that night

id still pass the year, but can i retake in august? And will colleges see the failing grade if i do retake??/

I'm pretty sure you can retake in August.

ya but what happens to my failing grade...lol if i were to fail that is

I think it's replaced or averaged together with your new test score; depedning upon the school it may also get averaged into your GPA.

what regents do you think you failed, if you don't mind sharing.

bethlikesun, doogie said physics (one of the hardest, i have heard)

regents passing is 55 i think (come on is it even possible to do that bad?)
to get a regents diploma u have to take 5 regents i believe, and pass at least 4 of them with a 55. sad right?
i dont know about individual school procedures, i.e. some teachers are stupid and they use the regents score as a final mark for the class, and other teachers dont factor it into ur grade at all. in my school i think if u fail a June regents, you take it in the middle of the next school year. in my middle school if u failed a regents u had to go 2 summer school and then take it in august

physics, i thought it was pretty tough

and i am not sure that the regents is like the SAT and AP.. because u have to have had a required length of class time (and in the sciences, lab time) per year. i mean like u cant just opt to take it any given month. ah i dunno

yeah the physics was really hard, I hate physics

i did do bad in physics- im soo ashamed- some kids with like perfect averages were crying

90% of NY schools average your regents grade into your GPA.. if you fail, the failing grade gets averaged in. You must also retake it in august and pass. The passing grade will replace the failure but your final grade in the subject you took it for will not change.. thus still having the average of all four quarters and the failing regents grade. I had chemistry today.. wasn't that easy either, especially the MC.. I know I passed, I just wanted to do well because 20% of your final grade can really make you or break you. I hate NY state.

crying because they think they failed?

other than that, regents scores don't mean much..

umm in our school regents is ur final

the physics regents is not given again in august (i asked my teacher, i too think i did awfully).

stop complaining, i dont do that well in physics (b+) average, and all the studying i did consisted of taking 3 practice tests, and this one was a piece of cake.

umm so because you though it was easy, we cant think it was hard. That is some pretty strange logic.

no one on this site would ever fail a regents ... they are all so easy ... every single one ... even chem and physics its not hard at all to get a 90 let alone pass despite that everyone says theyre hard ... its like the math a regents ... it is sooo easy but they had to make it easier for the "gangsters" lol who dont do any work the whole year

Did anyone take the Chem Regents today? What did you think of it?

I thought the multiple choice questions were harder then usual, but the "free response" were pretty easy.

Nice syllogism, yomoma...
