I’m in community college and I just can’t stick to school I’ll always drop some of my classes due to not showing up. I need help to finish because I know it’s better for my life but it’s overwhelming do I need medication or something?
I was the same way and here I am, 10 years later, going back to finish what I started. Believe me, it’s better to just get it over with and not have to look back. It’s hard to see it now, but I promise you, somewhere down the road, if you quit, you will regret it.
Figure out what types of classes interest you and enroll in those.
Yeah the problem with a CC is that their isn’t much motivation. Transfer to a good university with good students since it rubs off.
Maybe try just taking one or two classes that seem interesting to you, but are needed. Then hopefully you’ll get motivation, and into the routine of school. Have you tried online classes, or hybrid?
I haven’t taken an online class but I do plan on registering for one
One thing that has helped me feel more motivated is reminding myself where I want to transfer to what I need to do that. I figured out what classes I need to take and to transfer and every couple of days I read my plan. I didn’t feel very motivated my first year of community college. Since the social life at many CC’s are almost nonexistent, the most effective thing would be to motivate yourself. Goodluck.
Sometimes working retail or at a fast food job can be a great motivator. I worked as a janitor for a couple summers and it definitely motivated me to study.
You may be suffering from depression…I would go talk to your doctor or someone at the college’s counseling office as soon as you can.
