My extracurriculars are great and my essays/recs will be phenomenal. Will the 5's on AP Calc AB/BC help/make up for the C in 10th grade Geometry? I had a really hard time in that class. I'm just not a math person. My major will be in English Literature.

Oh and I'm taking a gap year. No one from my class applied/will apply to Princeton. My school doesn't rank either.

ACT: 33
SAT: Lit 780, Spanish 740, US History 720: 2240

If you’re applying to Princeton, I’d say you have a fair chance of being accepted. I hope you know to apply to tons of other schools, though, since Ivy Leagues are very, VERY hard to predict.

What about EA? What chance do you think I have for that? My cumulative GPA is 3.94/4.4.

I might apply to Cornell ED instead though…and Princeton RD.
CUNYs? Stony Brook?

Thanks! How much will the C hurt me?

The C is so minute, admission officers will not think much of it.

Really? I thought that it would destroy me…

Maybe my AP Calc self study + ACT math score could make up for it?

I’m a white female if it helps…and I’m not majoring in anything that has to do with math…

You have a very strong upward curve from the FIRST SEMESTER of sophomore year. I wouldn’t stress too much about it. Think of it like this; regardless of whether you had those grades or not, I think your admission decision will probably be the same. When it comes down to minutiae like that, which you have clearly overcome, your ECs/Recs/Essays should be the predominant determining factor. Otherwise, you look to be a great applicant as far as I can tell with the information you provided. Best of luck and just trust to what you already have.

Care to chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1276395-post-application-chances-top-schools.html

Thanks! I worked pretty hard. So my math situation isn’t so bad after all?

My essays will be strong. And freddy I’ll chance you back asap.
