I feel my application does not say enough about me (both personal, academic)

I’m looking over my Notre Dame app (as a whole, including common app), and I just feel like I don’t say enough about me. I feel like I kind of talk about the same things. I don’t do any sports, like most kids seem to do, so I don’t talk about that. I don’t play an instrument, do musicals, dance, photography, so I don’t talk about that either.

I feel like when they read my application, they won’t have taken anything from it and it’ll seem just empty. Like they’ll be like: we know absolutely nothing about this girl. She doesn’t really talk about school, and she doesn’t talk about her hobbies at all.

Would an adult be willing to pm me their email so I can send them a copy of my application? I simply want to know if after reading my application, you felt you knew me.

PS: I know to only send to legitimate posters w sufficient history on CC.

I will look at your essay. Just cut and paste it into a message. As far as hobbies, etc…maybe you can put some of that into the additional info section.

I pm-ed you! @Lindagaf

Bump

I won’t be able to look over your essay, but I will tell you that my D (a sophomore at ND) did not discuss any sports or ECs in her essay. It was just a story that revealed more about who she truly is, and it was in her voice.

Also, for ND, you should carefully consider how you craft the “Why ND” essay. That’s important. They really are looking to see why you’d be a good fit for ND. Good luck!

So while I don’t want to look over your app, what are you strongly interested in? It can be an out of school activity. Like one of my kids studied Finnish just because she was interested, and some of her supplemental essays were about that. She wrote another one about being enthusiastic that I think helped seal the deal for a merit award at the college she attended. Another of my kids loved a particular literary character from an early age and tried to imitate him through the years with pretty entertaining and thought provoking results – that was her common app essay topic.

My kids did list out of school hobbies I their common app, too. Like one is an amateur entomologist.

@ZBlue17 I can look it over, you can pm me.
