I feel stupid applying to the White House?

I feel idiotic preparing for the white house internship... They only accept 5-10% of internships, and I'm a university student from abroad, although i have U.S. citizenship. I have NEVER seen anyone from a non-American university with U.S. citizen getting accepted to the White House....

Why is that the case? I have seen that long thread, but that's not helping me since my case is different.
Should i just give up applying to the White House?

Isn't it 99.9999% rejection in my case?
Or do you think it's still worth trying, since i fit the qualifications still?

I have a feeling my professor was laughing his *** when i asked him for a letter of rec to the White House lolll.

Why the White House? How about the many, many other internships in Washington, D.C.? Apply and see what happens.

i just can’t think of anything except the White House. Do you know some good international organizations in the Washington D.C. region except the White House? I am majoring in international relations so.

The senate foreign relations committee, the state department, homeland security, there are troves of NGO’s around DC…

pretty sure most of the White House stuff is not IR related…
