A 3.4 is under par for NYU. 70% of freshmen have a 3.5 or higher. That sounds under par. Your standardized tests may make up for it since both are rated as being very important in the acceptance process.

3.4 is definitely sub-par, at my top 100 high school where 75% of people get into a top 100 college, you need a 3.5 at least to be competitive for NYU

St. Rose doesn’t make a lot of sense to me either. It is one of the best schools in NYS to go to if you are interested in becoming a teacher. But for business/finance??? If you need a safety school in the Albany area Siena College makes much more sense. Their business program is quite reputable and you would be a shoe-in. Your stats, even with the 89 GPA (which would be recalculated higher due to your APs), would likely assure you a substantial financial aid offer as well.

As for your other schools:

1) NYU CAS ED (Match)
2) Colgate (Match)
3) Claremont McKenna (Reach – the GPA)
4) Villanova (Match)
5) RPI (Match)
6) Union (Safety)
7) George Washington (Match)
8) SUNY Geneseo (Slight reach – the GPA)
10) SUNY Albany (Safety)

Hey, I really thank you guys for taking the time to chance me! I mean, all 8 of those schools are school that I would not mind going to. I guess my predictions were accurate, thanks for helping me make my list! And you guys should stop bashing St. Rose, i mean, it is a good school and I can get a lot of aid from them hopefully.

I think 90+% of people would question your choice of St. Rose, so if you really want advice from us, you should take it off your college list

Idk if Claremont Mckenna is really a match school for anybody. lol
