I fell in love, and want to return.

I visited Georgetown last fall. It was pouring and cold and I got soaking wet down to my underwear. However, I was still able to fall in love. I really felt at home, and everything about the school appealed to me.

I definitely want to visit again, and I was wondering when you thought would be the best time to go. If I loved it in such gross conditions, I want to see how I feel when it's pretty!

And if anyone can give me any other advice or has any comments about a GU prospective student, please share!

Thanks

I've always loved D.C. in the springtime. It's a nice town, alas I've got to look for Gtown for grad school. I'm certain I'll be going, let's hope. In the meantime I'll spend every summer in D.C., and work on preparing myself as best I can. It's just an amazing school and is the best place to be in the world for international relations and politics. Amazing!

September or spring are really the best times to visit the campus, although you can't go wrong when there's a big basketball game going on. My advice would be to try to see as much stuff as possible - they certainly put a lot into making it look pretty for the visitors, but I think it's worth it to visit the buildings and dorms and know what the conditions will really be like. Not saying that they're bad or anything, but you don't want to be surprised if and when you come here.

Thanks a lot :)

DC in April is heartwrenchingly beautiful. I say this as someone who hates the climate here and can't wait to get out. ;)

Around what time of the year does the climate start to get unbearable and around when does it get nice again? Sorry im comin from cali and im a bit nervous....

May through September is horrendous. November through March is depressing. April or October, I guess?

haha... great. depressing as in rain/snow/cold? or all three?

All three. They combine to form "cold slush".

In May through September it is nice and hot like Texas.

I wouldn't call 90% humidity "nice".

I would........

Hey..it's not that bad, then again I've grown up in the 90% humidity. At least it's not as bad as South Carolina!

I'm from Sweden. Temperatures over 80 degrees make me cranky; when it's humid I can't breathe.

ahhhahaha... Now, I understand why ppl think so cal has such good weather. It gets really, really hot in like the summer, especially in the valley here, but it's never humid. Regularly hits 100 in August and Sept, but with 0 humidity.

so wait, its hot in the summer and really cold in the winter?

whats the deal?!

is it more humid? oh and how often does it snow etc

(im the token kid from New Zealand that has no clue about DC/US weather)

It's not really cold in the winter, but it's cold enough for it to snow, and warm enough for all the snow to turn to slush almost immediately. In the summer, it's extremely humid.
