When I checked my tentative financial aid offer the night I was accepted, I was shocked to see how low my EFC was. Like, it was ridiculously low for a family that makes 120k+. I was very confused but left it alone because I had other things to worry about at the time. Recently, I started trying to figure why my EFC was so low and I finally found my mistake. I did the Parents’ 2014 Income and Benefits section completely wrong! I didn’t read the instructions and put zeroes in every box and now Northeastern thinks my parents made absolutely no money in 2014, which is very untrue.
What should I do? Should I call the school and let them know about my dumb mistake, or should I just let FAFSA set the record straight? I don’t want Northeastern to think I was trying to scam them or something
