I googled how to stand out on a chance thread. Didn't work..

<p>Thanks for reading, I was wondering how good of a shot I have at getting in at Princeton. Which sounds amazing. And I want to go. Like soon. Really soon. Now. But really. The thought of going there makes me all jumpy and weird. </p>

<p>anyways.</p>

<p>Here are my stats:</p>

<p>Applying EA</p>

<p>White Male in Austin, Texas</p>

<p>FIRST GENERATION. </p>

<p>Weighted GPA: 105.98 (we have a weird 100 point scale..)
Unweighted GPA 3.8something. </p>

<p>Class Rank: 1 out of 535 at a very Competitive High School that sends many students each year to top colleges.</p>

<p>Classes I have taken/will take (We get 8 blocks of classes a year):

<p>Could you expand a bit more on your ECs, though? Student Government and Science Competitions seem to stand out as themes (alongside some service), but with only the titles listed, it’s a bit difficult to gauge the level of commitment/passion put into each activity.</p>

<p>I got very involved in these class office positions, i.e: officer meetings every week, planning chapter projects, implementing successful events, advertising these events. Basically what I am trying to say is that these weren’t just titular positions, I actually got to do stuff. </p>

<p>Science Competitions (plan on going to district/state level this year) 3 years</p>

<p>State-wide competitions that I have to study a great deal for. Making it to the state level is a big deal and will get you some scholarships. We have practice sessions before each competition. I plan on being team captain this year. </p>

<p>Head of School’s Social Events Committee sophomore year</p>

<p>Planning school dances and social events was completely up to me. i.e: buying decorations, getting others involved in decorating, handling a budget, etc. </p>

<p>Head of School’s Community Service Committee junior year</p>

<p>This is where I really got to shine. I love giving back to my community, and through this I got the chance to facilitate community involvement for both myself and my peers. Planned TONS of projects. It was really great. I’ll probably emphasize this one on my application because I put so much into it. </p>

<p>Class Ambassador to the Principle 3 years.</p>

<p>Each grade and club has an ambassador. I represented my graduating class each year. We actually make really big decisions on things that majorly affect the student body. i.e: exam exemptions, parking situations, alumni relations, etc. Pretty neat to have done. </p>

<p>This was also one that I loved. I worked around 6 hours a week at a summer program for children who had learning disabilities and were falling behind. Really rewarding!</p>
