I got an email saying they have received my FAFSA. Does this mean I was admitted?

I received an email from Stony Brook saying they received my FAFSA. Does this mean I was admitted

"This notification is to inform you that we have received your 2014-2015 FAFSA from the federal processor. "

It says that and other information

My solar status has not changed and I am still wait on a decision

Same here. I don’t think we got accepted yet because I heard that a person who received his FAFSA email from Stony Brook got his solar updated… There are only two weeks left until April 1. Nerve wrecking!!!

No.

It means you selected the school on your FAFSA and the Feds sent it to them.

Nothing to do with admission.

I received that email as well. I applied in October…I’m really anxious to find out if I got in!

The email saying that your FAFSA was received simply hints at the idea that they’re looking at your application. Basically, SBU looks at applications in waves. So I was lucky enough to be accepted in this “wave”. Since April 1st, 2014 is closely approaching, those who didn’t get accepted already will be harder to actually get into the school.

My son just received that email tonight. Does it mean anything?

FAFSA acceptance is the financial aid department and has no impact on your admissions status. Everyone will be notified by April 1st.
