I got declined. Now what? Move on or reapply?

Seems like Harvard isn't sensible for me. I'm just a dreamer who wants to make it into an exclusive club. 6% wow! However, I must say that I was deferred from an equally prestigious university...which to me indicates that it's all a chance game. If they're willing to not straight-up reject me, students can't be THAT impressive. Can they?

I know that I'll be missing out. It's crimson! I know that it's spilled milk. Life moves on. I need to do so as well. Should I? Can I ? I'm just like every other seventeen-year-old. Very lost, yet also very ambitious. I'm probably ambitious due to being lost. I want to find meaning. I want to feel meaningful. But this is all meaningless, isn't it?

I don't know what to do with my life. I knew the number games when I applied. But I don't know the number game anymore.

To quote Jeffrey Brenzel over at Yale

It’s time to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and move on. Life’s adventures are waiting for you at a different school! Another quote from Mr. Brenzel comes to mind

Best of luck to you!

Thank you , gibby.

Nellabean: You really need to take a look at the list of the top CEOs in the US. Very, very few ever went to an Ivy school. It’s who YOU are that will determine your course in life, not who THEY (the Ivies) are. As for alumni networks, you may be surprised to learn that in whatever state you choose to work in, the alumni networks of the state universities are by far the most powerful. The Ivy networks are very diffuse. It’s nice to have the Harvard brand, but it buys you not so much as life moves on – no one hires you because you have Harvard on your resume; they hire based on experience and personality.
