I got deferred

So I posted this in a discussion for people who got deferred from Cornell a few days ago, but no one’s responded so I thought I’d start a new discussion. Here are my questions

If you got deferred will Cornell automatically receive your mid-year grades or do we have to request that our transcript be sent?
Also, what should I send in terms of an essay? Between November and now, I started working at a local vet clinic, would that be good to write about in my essay? Maybe make that the focus of my essay? I know a lot of you have said that it would be good to let Cornell know that they’re still your first choice, but I’m wondering how best to incorporate that in an essay.

what school were you deferred from?

They will only get your mid year report if: a) they have requested it from your Counselor or b) your school sends it to all your applications. You would have to ask your school to have it sent. S3 was deferred from SHE last year, and did the following to support his application: Called the admissions director to discuss the deferral, followed up with a letter of continued intent that showed his Sr year grades as well as accomplishments (Model UN awards), sent an additional letter of recommendation from a Sr AP History teacher and his GC sent a note of support and continued interest. He was admitted for Spring Admit.

Your essay should focus on what you have been doing since you sent in your ED application and Sr year courses and grades, as well as continued interest (If accepted, I will attend)

Write a letter of continued interest. If you really want action, have your GC make the call/write a letter of support. Do that only if Cornell is still your top choice.
