I got my first college mail!!!!

Lol, I remember getting my first college mail…can’t even remember what it was. Knowing me, it was probably Texas Christian University which scares me to death as an atheist. XD

You’re going to be flooded by this mail; Ivy Leagues are going to send you gorgeous packages and (I don’t know your stats so I’m making a generic, rather exaggerated statement) feel no regret over rejecting your application after two minutes with it.

But you should still look through it! Seriously. My favorite school right now (I’m waiting for a decision right now) is Pomona College which I never heard of until I got college mail from them. I hadn’t heard of Tulane University until college mail came, and I just got accepted and got a nice scholarship. :3 Best of all, I think I would be happy at Tulane; it’s an option I can consider. Even if you end up applying to schools you knew when you were five years old, give those pamphlets a look.

Granted, I still want to scream whenever I see Colorado School of Mines because I could have practically filled a recycling bin with their mail. -.-

A friend of mine, who was one of those atheists that always felt the need to try to “convert” people, kept getting calls from a school he says was “St. John’s” (College or University, he didn’t know). Like the 5th time (after assuring the people the other four that he wasn’t interested), he picked up the phone, yelled, “I HATE CHRISTIANS!” and hung up, never to receive a call from them again.

I want the R.I.T one…

First: Carleton
Nicest-looking envelope: University of Minnesota
Most unique: None.

I got some from a missionary seminary.

My girlfriend got one from Carnegie Mellon that had a piece of kilt-like fabric covering it. Under the fabric, it said something like “Congratulations, you peeked under the kilt!” I thought that was funny, though I never got it.

Yeah I’m seeing how the coolness wears off pretty quick. I got more from Miami and Champlain college today, the Miami one was a near carbon-copy of the one I got from Tulane.

Oh haha I know. That’s why I find it to be amusing. :P

I think most unique was the school that sent me a hanger with it’s mail hanging on it in the form of a [kilt](http://www.walltowall.com/assets/CMU_Kilt.png</a>) and one that sent me a CD…

And most of it gets old (like how everyone above posted). Frickin school from Texas sent me the same thing three times in three weeks (I think I have 11 from them)

My first was from Oberlin, the fanciest was a spiral bound book from Johns Hopkins, and Santa Clara gets honorable mention with the pennant they sent in their folder. :P

I looked at most of my mail. It was really helpful.

It was probably St. John’s University; St. John’s College is really liberal xD

Aww I remember when I felt this way  Memories…then I started to get more and more now I’m like SHUT UP!!! lmao :stuck_out_tongue: Congrates though

I know more about SJC, but they didn’t say they were Christian or anything like that, he assumed. Plus, even a non-Christian school would be turned off by that.

Has anyone else gotten what seems like a *****load from Washington University in St. Louis? Especially during the summer/first semester.

Yes, yes I did.

Today I got mail from TCU, Westminster, University of Denver, Duke, and Colgate. I’m only replying to the last three, though. I’m an atheist, so no way am I going to TCU, and I wouldn’t step foot in Utah if I could help it.

I don’t think you’re supposed to reply… Unless there’s a card to fill out for more information.

Favorite: Macalester. Everything they sent was so witty, and I loved the Calendar they gave away.

Most Annoying: Southwestern. Was well over the school’s range, so I don’t know why they bothered.

Also, for all the future NMS people out there, prepare to be flooded. It seems like every college in the nation buys the 210+ list… Just be aware.

Also, I made it a point to reply to every single college by mail; if you want to send me something and think it’s worth my time, then Mail it so I know it’s worth your money as well. Also, it makes great papier mache…

YES. It still won’t stop! I’m done applying, yet deadlines keep getting extended for “last minute applications.” I got FedEx packages from some schools with tons of info on their NM programs.

Yeah I still get mail from Newman, Wake Forest, Willamette, and several other schools saying they are “extending my deadline just for me” even though their deadline was a month and a half ago. Like really? If I didn’t apply then, I doubt I will now.

Not as bad as lying. University of Chicago said that I had begun my application but it was incomplete and they were giving me more time to finish it ASAP.

I did no such thing. Sure, I researched it a little, but never even opened an application.
